History

From a single event in 2011, Tech Allies has developed into a vital community for IT leaders and tech providers, enhancing relationships and championing STEM education. Over the years, Tech Allies has been unwavering in its mission to empower future tech leaders, support underrepresented students, and inspire innovation in the technology industry.

2011

Technology Ball Founders Dinner launched with 1 event and 12 Tech Executives.

2012

Expanded to the Technology Ball Reception and Gala, increasing to 2 events.

2013

Continued growth with 3 Technology Ball Receptions and Gala events.

2014

Became an independent entity, hosting 4 Technology Ball events and 35 Tech Executives.

2014-2018

Partnered with nonprofit MentorNet to start the STEM give-back program.

2019

Launched the UTD and Tech Ball Mentorship program with 50 students, providing scholarships.

2023

We proudly rebranded as Tech Allies and expanded into the Austin market, introducing innovative, peer-focused in-home events. Our growth included hosting five dynamic events in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, one in Austin, and the prestigious Technology Ball Gala. Together, these efforts brought over 125+ Tech Executives into our vibrant community, fostering collaboration and connection.

2024

We partnered with legendary football star Charles Haley and his organization Tackle Tomorrow Foundation for our annual fundraising efforts. We also launched our Huston-Tillotson University mentorship program with 110 student participants.
We held first end of season Extreme Driving Experience event at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, and finally, we partnered with SMU’s Tech CxO LaunchPad program.
